The depth of field of a camera refers to the range of distances over which the image is sharp. Typically a smaller aperature gives a greater depth of field. Note that the point of greatest clarity is controlled by the focus or zoom of the camera, the dpeth if field refers to how far in front or behind that point is also clear.
