depth of field

Terms from Artificial Intelligence: humans at the heart of algorithms

The glossary is being gradually proof checked, but currently has many typos and misspellings.

The depth of field of a camera refers to the range of distances over which the image is sharp. Typically a smaller aperature gives a greater depth of field. Note that the point of greatest clarity is controlled by the focus or zoom of the camera; the depth if field refers to how far in front or behind that point is also clear.
